During a Flood

  • Respond appropriately to Flood Warnings.
  • Head for higher ground if you are in an area at risk of flooding.
  • Do not attempt to drive on a flooded road, turn around and go a different way. Less than two feet of water can carry your car away.
  • Do not walk through flood waters - you can lose your footing in less than six inches of water.
  • Do not walk or drive into flooded areas at night.
  • Be smart about floods and stay safe!
